Rowing strong on what we built together
Welcome to Where Tradition Meets the Tide
Nestled in the heart of the maritime community of West Clare, Loop Head Rowing Club is a vibrant, community-driven initiative uniting people through the timeless pursuit of rowing.
We’re lucky to row in some of the most breath-taking waters in the world—whether it's the calm expanse of the Shannon Estuary or the stunning Atlantic Ocean along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Based in the picturesque village of Carrigaholt, our club is open to everyone over 16, no matter your experience. Whether you're a complete beginner or a salty dog, we’ll provide the training and support you need. While we take part in regattas now and then, there’s no pressure—most of us row simply for the sheer joy of being on the water!
If you’re up for fresh air, good company, and unforgettable rowing adventures, get in touch—we’d love to have you aboard!
“Stepping aboard The Five Pilots was a moment of pure sweetness, a quiet triumph. I settled into my seat, fingers curling around the elegantly crafted oar, its familiar grain a testament to the hours we had spent—gluing, sanding, painting—breathing life into our beloved skiff. Beneath an endless sky, upon an ocean stretching beyond imagination, I knew—I felt—this was where I belonged. Here, I was free.
The soft hum of conversation wove through the air, punctuated by the occasional mishap, a gentle yet firm reminder to follow the stroke. I lifted my chin, drinking in the briny air, letting the icy breeze kiss my face.
This could be heaven, I thought, a slow smile curving across my lips.”
